Facility in San Giuliano Milanese, Italy
Liquid waste management
The facility currently has a fleet of 17 steel tanks, all positioned above ground and fixed on a quartz waterproofed concrete base and HDPE sheathing in order to ensure the integrity of the subsoil.
The tanks are installed in a closed-loop system and equipped with accessories that allow, mainly, the handling and sampling of the contained product, temperature control, and automated cooling, drainage, and respiration, in the handling stages, with venting equipped with a special abatement system.
All liquid waste management activities both in packages and in bulk in tanker trucks, to and from tanks, are carried out with the help of a PLC and dedicated management software. These are under the direct control of a staff of experienced chemists who, in turn, make use of the contribution of a modern laboratory for the timely chemical-physical characterization of the materials.
Technology and expertise
Mecomer has state-of-the-art technological facilities and equipment that, combined with the passion and expertise of our chemists and facilities technicians in using the best available techniques, constitute a mix of indispensable elements of each phase of waste management, both liquid and solid, aimed at achieving both the best match to the specifications of the final facilities for both chemical-physical treatment and waste-to-energy, and aimed at pursuing the highest safety standards.
Solid waste management
Every hazardous and non-hazardous solid waste management activity, whether destined for recovery or disposal, is carried out under the constant control of our facilities chemists placed to oversee each individual processing area to guarantee both the proper conduct of treatment operations and the safeguarding of the health and safety of operators.
Treatment operations
Solid wastes can undergo mixing/grouping operations of homogeneous materials inside wheeled containers or 200-liter drums or 1m³ bulk, packaging/disposing, manual sorting, volumetric adjustment by compacting press, volumetric reduction by shredder and managed in packages or bulk depending on the specific needs of the final facilities. Exact correspondence to the transfer specifications is always guaranteed.
Safety systems
The facility is equipped with modern and effective fire safety systems. Automatic fire detection devices connected to sector-based sprinkler systems with automatic or manual extinguishing, monitor poles, portable and wheeled fire extinguishers, hydrants, foam tanks and pumping stations, and properly trained and educated personnel substantially increase the safety level of the entire industrial complex.
Expansion
Mecomer’s new industrial development project is the result of careful technical design aimed at combining improved waste management capabilities, liquid and solid, with the highest safety standards.
